A delightful, detached Lodge, located in the townland of Churchtown, just 4km outside the picturesque village of Beaufort, known as the Gateway to the Ring of Kerry. Lovingly decorated throughout, this Lodge near Beaufort provides charming accommodation for friends and families wishing to stay in one of Kerry’s most scenic villages whilst still remaining close to an abundance of attractions.

This Beaufort cottage has three double bedrooms, one of which boasts a handcrafted four-poster bed. The country-style fitted kitchen comes well equipped for all your needs and also has a dining area with an open fire to appreciate whilst enjoying a lovely meal together. The cosy sitting room has a homely feel and has plenty of reading material so you can kick back and relax in front of the open fire. The dining area of this cottage opens onto a superb decked area through sliding doors, so whatever the time of day you can enjoy a refreshing drink and alfresco dining in the well maintained garden. The intimate village of Beaufort lies in lush, rich countryside and has three fine pubs, each serving delicious food.

“An Tigin” –  A special getaway for couples:

Are you looking for a quirky but comfortable place to stay in Kerry? Come spend some quiet time in our lovingly restored stone cottage. “An Tigin” (small house) is set at the base of the stunning MacGillicuddy Reeks mountain range, on the road to Cronin’s Yard which is the traditional starting point for Carrauntoohil, Ireland’s highest mountain. The accommodation comprises of two original stone cottages, circa 1850 which have been restored as a cozy bedroom with double bed and comfortable armchairs in one and a kitchen with refrigerator and cooker in the other. You will experience life as it was in “years gone by” with an old-fashioned Pitcher and Basin for personal washing. There is also a beautifully made and environmentally friendly “eco-toilet”.  There is a barbeque area with outdoor as well as indoor seating for meals.

The cottage, which has excellent views of the mountains, is located close to Beaufort village, on the Ring of Kerry, only 15 minutes’ drive from Killarney.

Local Amenities:

  • 3 km to Cronin’s Yard –  this starting point for  low or high level walks provides amenities to walkers such as tearooms, food and showers.
  • Kissane’s Foodstore – less than 5 minute walk
  • The famous Gap of Dunloe is just 5 km
  • Beaufort Village with 3 local pubs is also 5km
  • No Smoking in the cottage
  • Free ample parking outside the front entrance

The village is set just fifteen minutes’ drive from Killarney and has numerous attractions within easy reach, such as rolling countryside, sandy beaches, a National Park, Ireland’s highest mountain and a choice of lively pubs and restaurants. There are also two excellent courses for golf enthusiasts. Why not visit the Puck Fair in the town of Killorglin in August , an annual festival with street markets, live traditional music and much, much more? There is also the famous Rose of Tralee festival in August, Killarney Races in May & July and many other festivals in the Kerry area from April through October.

Beaufort is a paradise for walkers, hikers and cyclists, with endless routes and tracks that are an excellent way to see the region. Whatever your interests, and whatever your taste, there is something for everyone in the Beaufort area.
